What is FOR INDY?

For too long, the church has been known for what it's against.  We want to be known by what we're FOR.  We partner with several local ministries to help bring hope and healing to our community.

Sheltering Wings provides emergency housing for survivors escaping domestic abuse. They build stable and independent lives through essential programs offered in a supportive and Christ centered environment.

Sheltering Wings is a perfect ministry for you and your small group to serve through hosting a meal for the families and children in their care as well as being present to possibly have the opportunity to mentor individuals within their facility.

Founded as early as 1893, Wheeler Mission is the oldest continuously operating ministry of its kind in the state of Indiana. Through the years Wheeler Mission has helped thousands of individuals through the struggle of homelessness so that men and women are no longer defined by their current situations and circumstances, but through a Christ centered approach are shown the value and purpose to which they have been called.

Wheeler Mission also has a vast array of volunteer opportunities. Wheeler would be the perfect location for your small group to come and minister to the facility itself or to the men and women in their care.

Shepherd Community is a faith based inner-city ministry that operates on the near east side of Indianapolis since as early as 1985. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty on the near east side of Indianapolis by engaging and empowering the community to cultivate healthy children, strong families, and vibrant neighborhoods to a Christ centered approach that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic needs of their neighbors.

Shepherd Community has an extremely active and effective food pantry ministry and if you are interested in serving there, that would be a great place to begin.

Family Promise exists to help families experiencing homelessness and low income challenges.  They help those families achieve sustainable independence through a community based response. As early as 1986, Family Promise’s ministry began. And through the years they have developed and grown into a vibrant and active organization that is transforming hundreds of lives in the Indianapolis area.

Family Promise has a broad list of volunteer opportunities if you as an individual, or you and your family are wanting to get involved with assisting them in their mission.
